Voluntary. Recognizable. Respectful.
One mark, across every medium.
Mission
Transparency builds trust.
Artificial intelligence is becoming a permanent part of human creativity. As AI-generated images, videos, music, writing, and other media become increasingly common, people deserve a simple way to know what they're looking at.
Universal AI ID exists to establish a free, open, and universal standard for voluntarily identifying AI-generated and AI-assisted content.
Our goal is not to discourage the use of artificial intelligence, nor to promote it above human creativity. Instead, we believe creators should have an easy, recognizable way to disclose when AI has played a meaningful role in the creation of their work.
Many existing AI watermarks are intrusive, inconsistent, or carry a negative stigma. Universal AI ID seeks to replace that uncertainty with a clean, positive, and universally recognizable disclosure mark that respects both creators and audiences.
As AI continues to reshape photography, film, advertising, journalism, education, entertainment, and social media, one question will become increasingly important:
"Was this created by a human, by artificial intelligence, or by both?"
Regardless of where someone stands on AI, the answer to that question matters. Transparency is not about limiting creativity. It is about preserving informed choice.
Universal AI ID is not about choosing sides. It is about creating a future where human creativity and artificial intelligence can coexist with openness, transparency, and mutual respect.
Know what you're seeing.
Create with confidence.
Disclose with pride.
Why it matters
One mark. Many audiences.
AI disclosure serves everyone in the content ecosystem — the people making it, the platforms distributing it, and the audiences experiencing it.
For Audiences
People deserve a clear way to understand whether content was created by a human, artificial intelligence, or both.
For Creators
AI creators should be able to disclose their tools without hiding them or accepting unnecessary stigma.
For Brands
Transparent AI usage can build credibility, accountability, and long-term audience trust.
For Platforms
Consistent disclosure standards help reduce confusion across images, videos, articles, ads, music, and social content.
